BAKED ROUND OR SWISS STEAK
Ingredients
- 2 lbs. round steak
- 2 med. onions
- Sm. clove garlic
- 2 fresh tomatoes
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 1/4 tsp. pepper
- Flour
- 1 c. water
Directions
Pound steak with edge of saucer. Blend 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1/4 teaspoon pepper in flour. Roll steak in flour. Saute in hot oil until golden brown, then add onions, tomatoes and garlic with 1 cup of water to make gravy. Place in covered oven dish and bake in oven at 350 degrees for about 1 1/2 hours. Serve with mashed potatoes, buttered peas and carrots.
