PANATTONI BREAD
Ingredients
- 2 pkg. yeast
- 1/2 c. warm water
- 1/2 c. milk, scalded
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. soft butter
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 4 1/2 to 5 c. flour
- 1/2 c. raisins
- 1/2 c. chopped citron
- 1 tsp. anise seed
- 2 tbsp. nuts
- Slivered almonds (optional)
Directions
Mix all ingredients except fruit. Rise until double. Form 2 round balls. Place in cake pan. Rise until double. Pour chopped fruit in center. Cover with dough. Let rise again and bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes.
